THE Brief
What happens when you want to show a car to room full of press, up close to every single person? You create a Virtual Reality experience, of course!
In partnership with Imagination we were able to show the new Jaguar E-Pace at Excel in London and promote it in a unique, fully immersive experience where every single characteristic of the new car was available for the press to view.
Our Approach
Jaguar has broken Guinness World Records, demonstrating the exceptional engineering of their cars. Following this trend, the new Jaguar E-Pace will be attempting to complete a barrel roll - a world first.
Our mission was to bring that stunt to life in VR and in 3D, so that the delegates could admire the new car in high-definition and slow motion.
How did we do it
Sure, it sounds simple, synchronise 72 VR headsets so that the delegates have a shared experience. Under the bonnet, however, there is a lot of technology to enable this.
Starting with the 72 HTC Vive Headsets with integrated headphones. Each one of these units was powered with a top of the line gaming PC sporting a GTX 1080 graphics card - creating, as you can imagine, awesome visuals.
To unify all of the headsets we used a high speed fiber network with a bespoke content synchronisation server, all managed by an awesome team of on-site engineers.
