AR EXPERIENCE - KOFFEECUP
A promotional campaign delivering bespoke coffee mugs on which recipients can play a unique AR filter.
Brief
With the end of the year fast approaching Koffeecup decided to develop a promotional campaign to celebrate the conclusion of 2022.
Our Approach
We gathered together and after many hours of caffeine fuelled discussion decided to create a fun AR filter.
The AR filter works in conjunction with a bespoke coffee mug that we would send out to clients along with a card, stickers and hot chocolate.
We developed the campaign with a festive theme and decided it should star the mythical Yeti.
This uninvited guest makes themselves at home, lounging around in the mug. Warming their frozen bottom, in the mug of hot chocolate!
So we provide a few imaginative ways of getting rid of them…

How did we do it
We designed a coffee mug featuring a QR code that links to an AR filter simply by scanning the mug with a mobile phone. Without the need to first download software from an App store.
Our Yeti character was rigorously visualised to ensure maximum adorability.
The 3D team then modelled and animated the Yeti in Maya.
These animations were then developed into an interactive experience in Unity before being published to the 8thWall platform.
8thWall has the added benefit of enabling the use of advanced interactions within a real time experience.
We supported the release of Pick-A-Brew with a teaser campaign and reveal on social media.
We've since added a standalone version that doesn’t require a mug. Allowing everyone to experience the silliness.
