DIGITAL INSTALLATIOn - imagination detroit
The interactive screen walls ran by no less than 13 gaming PCs, centralized over an in house cave rendering system allowing perfect synchronization of each display
brief
This experience for Black Label – Lincoln’s Luxury Car Brand - was held at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show and puts the customer at the heart of the experience, making the visitors interact with the digital.
This is one of our early projects, where we had to create an experience that would put the customer in the center, in the most elegant and Lincoln-like way. Taking inspiration from the components of Lincoln’s new Black Label brand and bringing the to life, we created an interactive experience where the user could control the direction and movement of butterflies, sparks and particles, on the screens in front of them.
How did we do it
Using a high speed camera, we filmed footage with a very slow frame-rate - no less than 1000 frames per second! We then turned those into an interactive, using physics engines.
We used 8 synchronized 4k screens and Microsoft Kinect sensor technologies.
The interactive screen walls ran by no less than 13 gaming PCs, centralized over an in house cave rendering system, allowing perfect synchronization of each display. Interactions were driven over a bespoke system, merging tracking information from 4 Microsoft Kinect cameras into a single API.
We created a seamless, photorealistic and interactive experience for the visitors - making it feel like magic!
